Kyoto On Film.

In December 2016 my family and I made our second visit to Japan, this time in the winter and this time only to Kyoto. Despite the absence of the picturesque orange-red abundance that thoroughly blessed my eyes the last time we came to Kyoto during autumn, winter in this beautiful city and less bustling part of the country proved to be equally wonderful. Visiting temple after temple and shrine after shrine, and in between toasting ourselves up in any small but warm and cozy ramen or sushi restaurant (because almost every one serves quality meals, no matter which eating place on the street you choose to walk into. Makes meal-planning incredibly stress-free, really), all at our own slow pace to match the city's tempo of lifestyle, was real therapy.

Pt. ii - Ineffable.

"Words do not express thoughts very well. They always become a little different immediately after they are expressed, a little distorted, a little foolish."

Pt. i - Être fragile, être forte.

Happy new year everyone! Got inspired some months ago and December saw those ideas being turned into actions at last.

Misconceptions of Me.

Happy Chinese New Year! The holidays wheeled in loads of angpows, fewer family visits than expected, zero studying, a substantial amount of guilt from aforementioned zero studying, and of course time to edit this second batch of photos from December's shoot with Ada (although unfortunately not completed in time for her birthday). Happy belated 19th to you, Tsang; here's to more shoots and random sessions of so-called visual aesthetics appreciation xx

Hiraeth.

Happy new year everyone! What better way to start off 2016 than to drill some life back into this perpetually-hibernating blog? These are from a shoot I had with Ada at the start of the year-end holidays in which we attempted a clean, crisp, semi-minimalist concept with some Lolita(?) undertones (yes, diversity is everything). The past whole year despite being caught up to our necks in the labour of our studies and A-levels, we have found time to be greatly inspired by the incredibly talented and creative Bryant Lee; ideas for this series were partially born from his aesthetically-pleasing work! Also it's my first time using Lightroom so apologies for the less-than-masterful editing. Have a fantastic year ahead!!
